Hi, I'm Blaine.
I am a barista with a BA in Philosophy and experience in leadership and delegation, accounting and data entry, writing, planning and organizing, marketing and communication. I am passionate about using creativity and critical thinking to solve problems and improve the lives of others. Some of my additional qualifications include creative and persuasive writing, digital and traditional art, organization and record keeping, effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
My life’s philosophy is that if I can use my experience to help other people, the challenges I have faced will have been worthwhile.
I have worked in high-volume customer service roles since 2019, which have required effective communication with people of all backgrounds, as well as following instructions, working under supervision, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. My experience as a supervisor has taught me how to calmly and effectively handle conflict, and has significantly improved my skills as a leader. I am comfortable delegating tasks and roles, exercising discretion in ambiguous situations, and making sure store operations run smoothly and that customer and coworker requests are promptly met. I also ask for feedback from coworkers, which I use to improve both my own performance and the work environment as a whole. My experience as a supervisor as well as an accounting assistant required meticulous data entry, which I not only excelled at but enjoyed. The most important aspect of my job is looking out for others and I aspire to continue doing so in every job position I acquire.
